Frequently asked questions.

1. What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine combines modern science with natural therapies to support the body’s ability to heal itself. As a naturopathic doctor in Toronto, I use nutrition, lifestyle coaching, functional testing, botanical medicine, and physical therapies to get to the root cause of your symptoms — not just manage them. My goal is to create a plan that fits your life, helps you feel better now, and builds lasting health over time.

2. What should I expect during my first visit?

Your initial appointment is a chance for us to take a deep dive into your health story. We’ll review your symptoms, history, and goals, and often discuss lab testing or physical exams if needed. The visit usually lasts 90 minutes, giving us plenty of time to explore what’s really driving your health concerns and to start crafting a plan that feels realistic and doable.
If you’re booking virtually, we’ll cover the same ground — just from the comfort of your home.

3. Are naturopathic visits covered by insurance?

While naturopathic visits aren’t covered by OHIP, most extended health benefit plans in Ontario reimburse part or all of your visit fees. Check your policy for “naturopathic services.” I provide detailed receipts so you can easily submit your claims for reimbursement.

4. What conditions do you treat?

I work with a wide range of health concerns — from menopause, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes to gut issues, fatigue, anxiety, and chronic inflammation. Many people come to me when they feel stuck, or when their symptoms don’t fit neatly into one diagnosis. My approach focuses on understanding how your systems connect — hormones, digestion, metabolism, and stress — so we can restore balance across all of them.

5. How are Naturopathic Doctors trained and regulated in Ontario?

Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) in Ontario complete at least eight years of post-secondary education, including a four-year, full-time naturopathic medical program from an accredited institution. We pass national board exams (NPLEX) and are licensed by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO). NDs are regulated healthcare professionals who combine evidence-based medicine with natural and lifestyle-based therapies.

6. Do you offer virtual or telemedicine appointments?

Yes! I offer virtual naturopathic visits for patients across Ontario. These appointments are held over secure video and are ideal for follow-ups or when in-person care isn’t possible. Physical exams and certain assessments are available at my Toronto office.

7. Can naturopathic medicine work alongside my medical doctor or medications?

Absolutely. My approach is collaborative, not alternative. I often work alongside family doctors and specialists to ensure your care is coordinated and safe. If you’re taking prescription medications, I carefully review potential interactions before recommending supplements or herbs. The goal is to complement your existing care — not replace it.

8. Do you offer lab testing?

Yes. I use both standard and functional medicine testing to gain a deeper understanding of what’s going on in your body. This might include hormone panels, metabolic and nutrient testing, microbiome analysis, or cardiovascular risk profiles. Lab fees vary depending on the test, and results are reviewed in detail so you fully understand what they mean and what to do next.

9. How long does it take to see results?

Everyone’s healing timeline is unique. Some people feel improvement within weeks, while others need several months to see deeper changes — especially for hormonal, digestive, or metabolic concerns. My goal is to help you notice early wins while building a foundation for long-term results.

10. What’s the difference between a Naturopath, Nutritionist, or Homeopath?

A Naturopathic Doctor (ND) is a licensed healthcare professional trained in clinical diagnosis, lab testing, and natural therapeutics, regulated by CONO in Ontario.
A nutritionist focuses primarily on diet and meal planning, while a homeopath specializes in homeopathic remedies. NDs may integrate nutrition and homeopathy into treatment, but our training is broader — blending clinical medicine with natural healing approaches.

11. How much do you charge for your services?

My fees reflect the time and depth of care involved in creating truly individualized assessments and treatment plans.
Initial visits are 90 minutes and priced at $265, allowing for a comprehensive review of your health history and goals.
The second visit, where we go over your assessment and starting treatment plan, is 60-minutes ($215). Follow up visits are usually 30-45-minutes ($115 - 165) every 4-6 weeks as we are getting you going, and then less frequently as you get better.
Specialty services such as Bowen Therapy, IV therapy referrals, and functional lab interpretation have their own pricing — outlined on the Services page.

Most extended health plans cover naturopathic visits under Naturopathic Services. Receipts are provided for easy reimbursement. There is no HST charged on Naturopathic visits.
