Specialty lab testing

The right test at the right time can change everything.

Let’s be strategic about it.

Advanced Testing Options

Below are some of the key tests I offer to help uncover the root causes of your symptoms

  • We can go beyond the basics to assess markers that aren't typically included in routine panels—detailed kidney function, insulin and glucose interactions to catch early metabolic changes, cholesterol particle sizes, inflammatory markers, nutrient levels like vitamin D and B12, and hormones like DHEA, testosterone, estradiol, and progesterone. These deeper dives help us understand what's happening at a more detailed level.

  • Your adrenal glands produce cortisol throughout the day in response to stress, and this rhythm matters. Salivary or urinary cortisol testing maps your cortisol pattern over the course of a day to show whether your stress response is functioning well or if you're stuck in a state of chronic stress, burnout, or dysregulation. This is especially helpful for understanding fatigue, sleep issues, anxiety, and immune problems.

  • The DUTCH test (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) goes beyond measuring your hormone levels—it shows how your body is metabolizing hormones like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and cortisol. This gives us insight into why you might be experiencing symptoms even when standard hormone tests look "normal." It's particularly useful for understanding complex hormone issues, PMS, perimenopause, PCOS, and hormone-related mood or sleep problems.

  • Your gut microbiome plays a massive role in digestion, immunity, mood, and inflammation. The GI-MAP or other advanced stool tests analyze the bacteria, yeast, parasites, and markers of gut function to help us understand what's happening in your digestive system. This testing is invaluable for chronic digestive issues, food sensitivities, autoimmune conditions, skin problems, and even mental health concerns.

  • Unlike food allergies (which cause immediate reactions), food sensitivities trigger delayed immune responses that can contribute to inflammation, digestive issues, skin problems, fatigue, joint pain, and brain fog. Food sensitivity testing identifies which foods might be causing problems so we can create a targeted elimination plan and give your body a chance to heal.

  • A complete thyroid assessment goes beyond just TSH to include Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies. This gives us a full picture of thyroid function and can catch issues that standard screening misses—especially important for fatigue, weight changes, hair loss, mood issues, and temperature regulation.

  • This urine test measures metabolic byproducts to assess nutrient deficiencies, mitochondrial function, neurotransmitter metabolism, gut dysbiosis, and detoxification capacity. It's like getting a window into your cellular metabolism and can be particularly helpful for chronic fatigue, brain fog, and complex health issues.

  • Comprehensive nutrient testing measures vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and fatty acids at the cellular level. This helps identify deficiencies that could be contributing to fatigue, immune issues, mood problems, or poor recovery from illness or injury.

  • Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) occurs when bacteria overgrow in the small intestine, causing bloating, gas, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation. A breath test measures hydrogen and methane gases after drinking a sugar solution to diagnose SIBO, which is often an underlying cause of IBS symptoms.
